Zsuzsanna Szabó, our PhD student intern from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, visited Emma Master´s biocatalysis team at Aalto University. Zsuzsi is working in Work Package 3 in which she is developing demonstrator products such as hydrogels. She brought some novel hemicelluloses with her to investigate our enzyme´s activity on them. Gladly she left with many new insights and knowledge to carry out new experiments at her home university. Many thanks to Owen Mototsune and Anna Pohto for navigating her in the lab.
Currently we have 10 intern PhD students and researchers working at different stages of BioUPGRADE, all of them have unique expertise and we are facilitating their learning with travel possibilities and study visits.
