With a lengthy and fruitful collaboration with Hugh O`Neill´s team at Oak Ridge National Laboratory we investigated the direct impact of microbial loosenins on holocellulose wood tissues. Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) is a promising technique to understand the mechanism behind expansin activity. Since these proteins lack lytic activity and structural change needs to be analyzed in the wood tissue. The article has been published by our project partners Deepika Dahiya, Zsuzsanna Péter-Szabó, Pramod Sivan, Francisco Vilaplana and Emma R. Master.
